Head Coach Drew Maus

Drew Maus enters his fifth year as the Head Baseball Coach at Newman University heading into the 2024 season, after joining the Jet family August 5th, 2019.

In the 2023 season, Maus led the Jets to their first ever MIAA Tournament appearance and first tournament appearance since 2014. The Jets finished with a 23-30 record and the 14 conference wins are most in the Newman-MIAA era. In the tournament, NU took down No. 13 Missouri Southern in game two of the MIAA opening round. Under Coach Maus, Jake Angelico, Zack Stewart, Jason Schneider, and Jenner Steele earned All-MIAA honors. Jenner Steele became the first Newman Jet in any sport to earn MIAA-Player of the year. 

Under Maus, Jake Angelico, Garrett VanDeventer, and Jenner Steele earned MIAA Athlete of the Week awards. The 2023 season was the first time any Jet earned the honors. 

In the 2022 season, Maus led the Jets to a 23-23 record, going 13-20 in the MIAA. The 2022 season was Maus's best season since becoming head coach. Under Maus, Tyler Push, Asher Finke, Connor Langrell and Jenner Steele all earned postseason honors.

Maus has served as a college assistant coach for seven years. He served a total of five seasons during two separate stints (2010-2013 and 2015-2019) on staff at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He also served as an assistant baseball coach at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for two years.

Maus also played NCAA DII baseball. He was the starting shortstop for Ouachita Baptist University on its 2008 national runner-up team.

Maus is a native of Hamilton, Ohio. He and wife, Katy, have two sons, Reece and Dean.
